good simple fun December 10, 2007 mamasabria 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This is a good basic addition to any toddler's toy collection. We like it because:
- It's wood. The rings make a satisfying "clink" that plastic or cloth stacking rings lack.
- It's easy for kids to do. We've had other stacking toys (like the Melissa & Doug stacking train) where certain pieces only fit in certain places, and that is frustrating for little ones just figuring out how things work. This one's simple and straight-forward.
- It's inexpensive.
My older son received this when he was about 18 months and played with it quite a bit. Now his younger brother enjoys it, and has been able to put the rings on & off since about 12 months.
(Just a warning: the stick, or "ring holder" as we call it, often gets banged around like a hammer in our house - this is partly why they like this toy so much, but it means close supervision is necessary!)
stacker January 12, 2008 Kara Ann Hensey (Raleigh NC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
who doesn't love a stacker? what i especially like is that the rings are all the same size on the inside so my daughter can stack them any way she likes...they don't have to go in the same order each time!
BIG hit! January 22, 2008 kwb (dallas, texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got this for my 18 mos old for Christmas. She plays with it all the time as does her 4 yr old sister. They even play with it together and my old daughter helps her baby sister with it. Along with the shape sorter we got her this was her favorite present!!! Well worth the money!
As usual, Meliss and Doug are fabulous! August 31, 2008 Marnie Morneault (Lewiston, Maine) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent product, excellent company. I have had lots of experience with Melissa and Doug, and they stand behind their products! this one is no exception, it is great, and my 1 year old loves it! `
A great toy for infants and young toddlers September 10, 2008 Raising a Happy Child (Northern California) We got this stacker as a gift from my mom, and I specifically asked for it. It's a great toy for infants and toddlers - bright, safe and sturdy. It encourages coordination and color recognition. My daughter figured it out by 13 months, and played with it on and off for the next 3-4 months. Now it stands on the shelf and gathers dust, but I am not willing to part with it for sentimental reasons.
