Great design, poor finish quality February 4, 2004 J B W 28 out of 32 found this review helpful
I gave this puzzle to my daughters (age 1.5 and 3.5) for Christmas. Practically the first day, the stickers started to peel here and there. It wasn't terrible, but it's obvious that over time this isn't going to hold up. I'm terribly disappointed because I wanted such a neat puzzle to last for the grandchildren. This puzzle is advertised as a wooden puzzle, which implies quality construction. It may be made of wood under the stickers, but that doesn't mean it's going to last. After purchasing the Cutting Food Box by Melissa & Doug, (which is a fabulous, durable, awesome toy) I foolishly assumed that this would be of the same great quality, probably with a painted-on finish. Or at least a layer of lamination over the stupid stickers to protect them!!! Well, it's just typical cheap "made in China" junk. I called the company to complain. The first lady I spoke to assured me that this was absolutely not supposed to happen, it must be that I just got a bad one. She told me she'd send me a new one right away. Here I am, over a month later, no new puzzle has arrived. So I called again and spoke to a gentlemen who wasn't so helpful. Apparantly, they just entered my information today, so my puzzle should ship tomorrow. I can't believe it's taking them so long to ship me a new one. But I guess, since they've already taken my money I'm not a priority anymore. To top it off, my replacement puzzle will be of the same construction, no improvements. I don't really even want it anymore, but the customer service guy "didn't know what else to tell me." Well the bottom line is, don't waste your money on this one, at least not if you're expecting something long-lasting.
Farm Cube January 1, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My two-year old daughter got this for Christmas, and she loves it! There are six possible puzzles that can be made with the cubes, all familiar farm scenes such as horses, cows, chickens, and ducks. My daughter loves guessing which side of a given cube goes with which puzzle, and she also enjoys stacking the blocks and moving them around their wooden tray in different patterns. We did have a corner of paper come off one of the blocks, but it glued back down easily.
Love it! January 31, 2006 Kristen L. Pedersen (Iowa) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Kaitlyn absolutely loves this puzzle! Her grandparents are farmers and she loves seeing the same animals on the puzzle that she sees in real life. It is so hard to find a puzzle like this! It's actually six puzzles in one! Genius! It is trickier to do than a regular puzzle...but that's good...it makes her work her brain more!
PLEEEEASE, MAKE MORE OF THESE!!! June 14, 2006 Athena (NJ) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
My only complaint is that this is the only cube puzzle they've got!! What an excellent idea! My daughter, who just turned 3 last week, loves it and has been playing with it every day for a month! She has already mastered all the 24 and 48 piece puzzles and this was the next level...it has challenged her because, being 3D, is not as simple.
We have not had the problem other people here have mentioned about peeling, but hey, even if one of these days we have the problem I won't be complaining much given that this was 9.99 and already is has been worth much more than that.
Good puzzle July 20, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My four and five year olds both enjoy this puzzle. They like that they can pick which picture to have the puzzle make each time.
