I love this puzzle! It's beautiful, the pieces fit perfectly, and it is easy for my daughter to figure out. The large knobs make the pieces easy to grasp, and the fact that the picture is painted on the piece and on the board makes it easy to match the puzzle pieces. My daughter plays with it all the time, and it's one of her favorite puzzles. The pieces are big too, so they're easy to keep track of, unlike smaller puzzle pieces that get lost or sucked up in the vacuum.
The only thing I found is that it is important to watch your child play with the puzzle until they're out of the "gnawing" stage. My daughter gnawed off the top picture of the chicken and sheep so that makes me sad since the painting is done by hand, and the pictures are so nice. So now I can only let her play with it supervised, until she stops gnawing everything in sight.

Bought this for my 17 month old granddaughter and she just loves it. It is so well made and the wooden knobs make it easy for her to use.

My 11 month old daughter loves this puzzle. She isn't able to always put the pieces where they go but she loves to hear me make the sounds for each animal. She loves to "walk" the animals around and hide then in some small boxes we have. Very well made wood puzzle.

I bought this for my daughter when she was 7mos old. She loves it...the large knobs make it easy for young babies to pick up and manipulate the shapes. She hasn't quite figured out how to put the pieces back, she has however, learned to use the pieces as musical, banging instruments!
I love the quality of this product and plan to purchase more of Melissa and Doug products.

I love this puzzle. It is all wood and very durable and sturdy. My 10-month-old is really into farm animals and we have fun identifying the different animals and making the animal noises. He doesn't yet "put the puzzle together," but has fun taking it apart and playing with the different pieces. I have even caught him chewing on some of them and the paint hasn't shown any signs of wear. It is a great first puzzle for little guys. Great choice!
